Raul Franco, DDS
Dr. Raul Franco graduated with his dental degree from the University of Nebraska College of Dentistry in 2016 and finished his advanced education in general dentistry in 2017 at Offutt Air Force Base. He has completed over 500 hours of continuing education course including the implant pathway continuum. He also maintains active membership in the American Dental Association®, the Nebraska Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry and the Adams County Dental Society. His professional mission is to offer high-quality dental care, treating every patient with the utmost integrity and respect.
Dr. Franco is happily married to Dr. Allison Kern, and together they have two sons. Away from dentistry, Dr. Franco finds joy in outdoor activities like fishing, hunting, boating and wakeboarding. He is also a faculty member at UNMC College of Dentistry and volunteers his time in both the advanced digital clinics and Veterans Smile program to help Veterans regain their smiles back.
Allison Kern, DDS
Dr. Allison Kern graduated from Hastings College and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Nebraska College of Dentistry in 2017. She continues to further her education each year and has completed training in Invisalign® treatment, straight-wire orthodontics and endodontics. She is a proud member of the American Dental Association, the Nebraska Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry and the Adams County Dental Society. Her goal as a dentist is to provide the highest quality of care in a comfortable manner so that patients can achieve optimal oral health for a lifetime.
Dr. Kern is happily married to Dr. Raul Franco, and together they have two sons. She enjoys water skiing, biking, reading, cheering on Husker volleyball, chasing her two little boys around and spending time with family and friends.
Chuck Bauer, DDS
Dr. Charles Bauer majored in pre-med at the University of Nebraska, and was accepted into the College of Dentistry after only three years of undergraduate work, rather than the customary four to five. His educational journey was marked by advanced training across several key areas, including TMJ and facial pain, mastication and occlusion, laser dentistry, advanced oral surgery techniques, fixed orthodontics, Invisalign® aligners, oral sedation and the placement and restoration of dental implants.
Dr. Bauer’s professional affiliations reflect his commitment to the field, proudly being a member of the American Dental Association®, Nebraska Dental Association, Society of Occlusal Studies, American Orthodontic Association, Academy of Dental Oral Conscious Sedation, American Academy of Implant Dentistry and the American Academy of Dental Boards.
With a career spanning over 47 years, Dr. Bauer has dedicated much of his life to serving the Hasting community and beyond, including a satellite practice and practicing in Doniphan for over 19 years. The path of his practice has seen partnerships with esteemed colleagues like Dr. Robert Howard, followed by his son, Dr. Jeffery Howard, and the addition of Dr. Allison Kern and Dr. Raul Franco, who are instrumental in moving the practice forward. Dr. Bauer’s mission in dentistry extends beyond providing exceptional care; he aims to excel in the business side of dentistry, mentor his partners, uphold high standards and support various Hastings community organizations.
Dr. Bauer’s leadership roles, including serving as the president of the Hastings YMCA board, the Hasting Kiwanis Trustees, a session elder at the 1st Presbyterian Church and an active member of the Nebraska Board of Dentistry for a decade, showcase his dedication to community service. His achievements were honored with his induction into the Nebraska Dental Hall of Fame in 2018.
Dr. Bauer acknowledges the significant role his wife, Jane, has played in the practice’s success and in their family life, being a pivotal figure in the business and a nurturing partner and mother to their two children. Outside of his professional and community commitments, Dr. Bauer enjoys a rich personal life, indulging in hobbies such as studying history, playing golf or racquetball, smoking BBQ and traveling, particularly to wine regions, reflecting his multifaceted interests and zest for life.
Tressa Gloystein, DDS
Dr. Tressa Gloystein completed her undergraduate degree in chemistry and Spanish at the University of Nebraska College of Dentistry in 2016, before advancing to the UNMC College of Dentistry to achieve her dental degree in 2020. Always eager to expand her knowledge, Dr. Gloystein regularly attends continuing education courses to stay abreast of the latest developments in dentistry. Her professional affiliations include the American Dental Association, the Nebraska Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry, underscoring her commitment to her field.
Dr. Gloystein joined the team at Hastings Family Dental in March 2024, a year after she moved back to the Tri-city area. She is dedicated to preventing and swiftly identifying oral health concerns to help improve the long-term prognosis of the community’s oral and systemic health. She strives to care for all patients to the best of other ability and creates personalized treatment plans with their goals and expectations in mind to maximize their oral health and happiness. She also enjoys crown and bridge work.
Outside of the office, Dr. Gloystein is a family-oriented person, balancing her professional life with being a wife and a mother to a young son, with a baby girl on the way. Her hobbies include cooking, baking and enjoying crime scene shows, alongside spending time with her family.
